Electronic devices, including audio-visual components (televisions, VCRs, stereo equipment), mobile phones and other hand-held devices, computer components, and gaming equipment, contain valuable elements and substances suitable for reclamation, including lead, copper, and gold. They also contain a plethora of toxic substances such as dioxins, PCBs, cadmium, chromium, radioactive isotopes, and mercury.
With this in mind Computer Hardware Inc. has teamed up with Waste Cap NE to help with Electronic Recylcing, Data Security, and Pollution Prevention. Waste Cap NE is a non-profit recycling company striving to help communities that are seeking to minimize their hazardous waste liability and reduce electronic equipment in our landfills. A commercial Recycling Program has been set in place for the Tri-City area. Any business that would like to take advantage of this Recycling Program should bring electronic equipment, including used toner and ink cartidges into any of the Computer Hardware locations, in Grand Island, Hastings, or Kearney. Computer Hardware will be weighing the equipment and charging a small fee per pound for transportation costs.
