When Apple first announced iOS 7 one feature that caught some attention was the anti-theft features. Apple explained it; you misplace your phone, lock your device via Find My iPhone, and then a username and password is required to open the device. If by chance you didn’t get your phone manually locked down over the Internet, your Apple ID is still required to even restore the phone. This makes any lost or stolen iOS device rendered useless until returned to the original owner.
Since that announcement and the launch of the iOS 7 Beta Security experts will be conducting government-sponsored test of these anti-theft security features that are built in. Tests have yet to begin but will be revealed in the near future.
