Applecare+ is an insurance policy for all of your iDevices for 2 years, that will cover any accidental damage you may encounter. You will pay an up-front cost ($99) to cover any potential accidental damage to your device. Applecare plans extend the length of your hardware coverage for both repairs and technical phone support for the full 2 years.
When is the best time to buy Applecare+? The easiest time to purchase Applecare+ is at the time of purchase. However, if it is not purchased at the time of purchase, you as the customer have an additional 30 days to add the protection plan on your device. Your device must be inspected by a Computer Hardware technician before Applecare+ is added. Keep in mind that Applecare plans are global. So, if you are traveling and have a problem, simply visit an Apple authorized retail store.
