As Apple announces new, improved, faster products, it becomes increasingly tempting to upgrade your entire computer, instead of maybe doing a few small upgrades. Whereas, buying a new Mac every 6 months isn’t very realistic. Computer Hardware has 5 easy ways for you to prolong the life and performance of your machine.
#1. Upgrade your RAM. A memory upgrade is very easy and inexpensive to do and goes a long way in the performance of your computer. This is a sure speed boost to any sluggish machine.
#2. New Battery. There is nothing worse than a battery only lasting a few minutes when not being powered by the adapter. Again, battery replacements are easy and inexpensive in just about any Macbook. Be sure to check your power adapter for frayed edges.
#3. Clear out old Files. Always be sure to remove unnecessary data you are not using. This would include; photos, music, documents and applications. Be sure to empty your trash whenever possible of older files. You can store older files on an external hard drive if need be.
#4. Bigger Hard Drive. As hard drives tend to fill up with content, your Mac may start to run slower. Putting a larger drive into your machine will help with some of those beach balls or spinning wheels you may encounter.
#5. New Accessory. Need just a little refreshing? Why not purchase a fun, new accessory? You will look and feel fresh and even give you new capabilities at times!
